Bo’ness Steam Train and Museum

The engine is heading out of the station, returning and hooking up the coaches.

The train stops at the station briefly while the engine switches.

One of the coaches in the museum, the mail car is in great shape. It’s a very interesting museum, probably one of the best in the world.

The train heads out. The whole trip takes about 90 minutes.

A refurbished coal car from when the coal mine in Birkhill was operating. The mine has been closed to tours, but the train still stops at the station.

About Tom Burley Photography

Welcome to Tom Burley Photography… I still get a thrill creating images that are meaningful and useful to you, and developing images that you can share with your clients or your family. I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years, beginning with newspapers in Ontario, and continuing a passionate journalistic approach with my own company in BC. Building on your ideas, together we can create images that meet and exceed your expectations. My creativity can help you achieve the images you need and want. My previous experience with newspapers has taught me how to think quickly and creatively on my feet. Covering special events, like weddings or trade shows, taught me how to capture the flavour of the event. Listening to your story has helped me create portraits that reflect your business and your personality. I have covered railroad lines, logging shows, government and business announcements, trade shows, concerts, sports, Royal visits, and even Pet of the Week. I am based in Summerland, BC, and serve the Okanagan and Lower Mainland. I do enjoy travel though, and would welcome an assignment in Europe or the Caribbean. In my spare time I bake pizza and slow pork in the outdoor brick pizza oven I built. I tie flies and fish and camp. I grow amazing tomatoes. I work part time as a Brakeman on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway. In the evening I play rhythm guitar and add vocals to the band, The Packing House Social Club. I am always looking for new projects. If you think we could work together to create something unique, please contact me at tomburley@shaw.ca.
